COMMEMORATION WREATHS LAID (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.. Commemoration wreaths were laid this morning at the foot of the Queen Victoria statue, one on behalf of the Royal Empire Society by Mr L. O. H. Tripp, and one on behalf of the Victoria League by Mrs Doctor. Before the ceremony Mr Tripp read a message from Lord Clarendon and the council of the Royal Empire Council, conveying greetings and best wishes. The message stressed the unity that had brought British peoples through immeasurable dangers. Now, with mighty Allies, there could no longer be any doubt that the great purposes for which they had fought would be achieved.
