BOY SCOUTS

NGA TOTARA GROUP. The monthly meeting of the Nga Totara Scout Group Committee was held at Mrs. I\l. Jago’s residence in Essex Street, Mr. J. L. L. Wood being in the chair. It was decided to hold a "Bring and Buy" day at the Den in the near future to raise funds for supplying the necessary equipment foe the group. This will also give parents and friends an opportunty of’seeijig the work being done by the scouts and cubs. The Acting-Scoutifiastor reported ’ that, the newly-formed troop was making good progress. The Cubmaster’s report showed that the cubs were also doing well. The chief event of the month was a hike to the Waingawa River. After fires had been lit, the cubs tried their hand at cooking sausages. This was their first attetnpt at cooking outside and they managed very well. The sixers find seconds are now. working hard practising an item which will be given at the camp fire oh Saturday night.
