INTERHOUSE ASSOCIATION. CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES LAST NIGHT. The growing popularity of indoor basketball was shown last evening by the large attendance of spectators to witness the Interhouse championship matches. Play was fast and exciting and there were some very closely contested matches. W.F.C.A A brought off a surprise 'win in the senior grade by defeating Kiwis by a narrow margin. Rangers A and Cathies A won their respective games in this grade also. In the intermediate section, Macduffs A defeated Sparklets after a very fast and open game, while Hugos defeated Hansells C, and Woolworths had a comfortable win over United. Hansells B scored an easy win over Cathies B in the juniors, and Rangers B defeated Macduffs B. The results of the various games are as follow: — Seniors. —Rangers A 8 (S Galyer 4, W. Nini 4) beat Hansell A 4 (E. Talbot 2, R. Harding 2). Cathies A 8 (A. Stains 4, D. Ranston 2, B Wellington 2) beat C. Smiths 4 (V. Cairns 2, I. Stevenson 4). W.F.C.A. A 11 (N. Russell 4, A. Stains 5, A. Roys- 2) beat Kiwis 10 (F. Bellis 6, J. Christian 4). Intermediate. — Woolworths 9 (O Shute 2, M. Pauling 2, E. Dixon 5) beat United 6 (V. Grimwood 4, S. Pauling 2). Macduffs A 6 (J. Cross 4, N. Clarke 2) beat Sparklets 4 (M. Phillips 2, J. Phillips 2). Hugos 8 (B. Goodwin 2. A. McKenzie 2, P. Ross 2, N. Pauling 2) beat Hansells C 4 (M, Johnston 2, H Harding 2).
