WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION LADIES’ GAMES. The Wairarapa Ladies’ Hockey Association's fixtures were continued on Saturday afternoon in fine weather, with the grounds in good order. Carterton seniors were expected to fully extend Excelsior A when these two teams met at Carterton, but the Masterton team showed far too much pace and combination for their opponents, and ran out easy winners by 6 goals to nil. Lack of form proved to be the downfall of Excelsior B, who played good hockey in the first half of their match against Kia Ora, the score being 1 all at the interval. Kia Ora proved the fitter team, however, and in the concluding stages of the game were definitely on top. Y.M.C.A. made a much improved showing, and only went down to Sincerity by 4 goals to 1. Greytown proved altogether too strong for the resuscitated Featherston team, winning easily by 12 goals to nil. The only junior ladies' game played on Saturday was that between Carterton and Greytown, which was won by the former by 6 goals to nil. The other junior games, in which teams from the Colleges are involved, will be played during the week. MEN’S ASSOCIATION.' CARTERTON AND Y.M.C.A. WIN. The following were the results of the games played by the Wairarapa Men’s Hockey Association on Saturday, good form being shown: — Carterton 6. Camp 4. Y.M.C.A. 11. College A 2. Old Boys won by default from College B.
