About 20,000 Sydney residents who spent the Easter vacation at mountain and. seaside resorts are stranded for lack of transport. Railway officials describe yesterday’s traffic rush as the worst “get home at any cost scramble” they had ever known. Many workers in war industries may be unable to return to their employment until tomorrow. Enormous crowds attended Sydney’s Easter sports gathering. More than 80,000 people saw the Doncaster at Randwick on Saturday, while yesterday's Sydney Cup attendance was over 70,000. About 50,000 people watched a rodeo in aid of the Australian Comforts Fund.
