PATRIOTIC FUND
1944 ALL PURPOSES APPEAL DANCE AT RAUWHITI SHOP DAY TOMORROW Residents of the Brancepeth and Ngahape areas, Zone 16, held a most successful dance at the Rauwhiti woolshed on Saturday night, in aid of the Patriotic Funds. Mr B.’ McGregor provided the music for the dancing and Mr Thompson, Stronvar, was M.C. Competitions were won by Mr Parker and Mrs Theed. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee. A sum of £5B was raised.
The shop day this week will be held by Zone 4 (Pownall Street, etc). The shop window bears witness to the industry of the women of the zone and great interest has been displayed in the clothing, etc., on sale. Tickets have been selling well for the' attractive raffles. The shop will open as usual at 10 a.m. Donors of cakes, etc., could ring Mesdames Shouler ' or Qorskie early tomorrow morning if they contributions to be called for. Zone 2 notifies that this week’s sewing meeting will be held at Mrs H. E. Pither’s residence on Thursday. In connection with the dance to be held by Zone 14 at the Kopuaranga Hall on Thursday, April 13, a free bus will leave the Post Office at. 7.30 p.m. to convey Masterton people who would like to be present. There will be a sale of produce at the dance.
