MEMORIAL SERVICE
FOR MAJOR-GENERAL WINGATE HELD IN ADDIS ABABA (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) RUGBY, April 7. To mark appreciation of the part he played in the Ethiopian Campaign an official memorial service was held at Addis Ababa yesterday, for the late Major-General Wingate. The Emperor, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Ministers and officials of the Ethiopian Government were present. The occasion was the anniversary of the British entry into Addis Ababa in 1941.
