DRUIDS’ JUVENILE LODGE The following were the resulst of the events held by the Carterton Druids’ Juvenile Lodge last night at the Carterton baths:—Junior events: 25 yards handicap, A. Dew 1, W. Denbee 2, B. McCarty 3. 50yds, B. McCarty 1, B. Allen 2, A. Dew 3. 75yds, B. McCarty 1, A. Dew 2. Senior events: 50 yards handicap, Ashley Booth 1, R. Goodin 2, N. Desmond 3. 75yds, Ashley Booth 1, N. Desmond 2, R. Goodin 3. Boys’ dive: R. Goodin 1, A. Dew 2, B. McCarty 3. Points prizes: Juniors, A. Dew and B. McCarty, equal with 8 points each, 1; AV. Denbee 2, B. Allen 3. Seniors: A. Booth and R. Goodin, equal with 6 points each, 1; N. Desmond 2. Thanks are extended for assistance given to Mr L. Fairbrother, Bros. H. Matson, A. Taplin, A. J. Dew and W. Fryer; and to the Carterton Borough Council for the use of the swimming baths. Owing to the next meeting of the Juvenile Lodge clashing with the Carterton P. and A. Society’s night show, it has been postponed till February 29. Bowling A team of eight members of the Carterton Ladies’ Bowling Club recently visited Palmerston North to compete in a tourney on the Terrace End rinks, when progressive pairs were played. A very enjoyable time was spent, the Carterton ladies acquitting themselves creditably. The best result was 3J wins out of 5, and this was scored by Mesdames Colson and Martin. The team was entertained at lunch and afternoon tea, this being much appreciated. The Terrace End ladies hope to. visit Carterton in the near future to play a return match. Personal Items Miss Gloria Kempton, of Carrington, was a successful exhibitor at the Feilding show, gaining prizes for cooking and knitting. . Dance at Parkvale . The Parkvale Women’s Institute will hold a dance in the Parkvale Hall on Wednesday, March 1. Mrs Ashton's Orchestra will provide the music and novelty dances will be included in the programme. Popular prices will be charged for admission and the proceeds will be in aid of the Institute funds.
