The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Northwesterly winds strong at times. Weather cloudy and warm with occasional rain in and near Tararuas. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Similar conditions. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today: —Shade temperature, maximum, 71; minimum, 61; terrestrial, 36; sunshine, 13 hours. PHASES OF THE MOON.
