An Associated Press correspondent at the Anzio beach-head reports that German planes divebombed an American evacuation hospital and killed 26 and wounded 64, including American nurses. The bombers, flying at 500 feet, dropped eight small anti-personnel bombs, which sent shrapnel whistling through two of the hospital receiving tents. The head doctor and also a dozen women nurses are among those wounded. Two nurses were killed. The hospital is on a naked plain, a mile from any military installation and the tents are clearly marked with the Red Cross.
