RED CROSS WORKERS
GROUP CONVENORS MEET. The convenors of the sewing, knitting, prisoner-of-war parcels and hospital handcraft groups of the ■ Masterton and the Country Districts’ subcentres of the Red Cross Society met yesterday afternoon at the residence of Miss Elliott, Colombo Road, at an informal gathering held before the year’s activities started. The ladies in these groups have devoted a whole day every week or two afternoons a week for the past four years to the work of the society.
Miss Higginson, matron of the Greytown Hospital, introduced Sister M. Collins, Junior Red Cross organiser for the Auckland Centre, who spoke of the work done in that area, especially that of the Junior Red Crsos. Afternoon tea was served and competitions held.
