WELLINGTON MEETING. ACCEPTANCES FOR SATURDAY NEXT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Record acceptances have been received by the Wellington Racing Club for the opening day of its cup meeting at Trentham today week, Saturday, January 15. The Cup field numbers 27, which is two below the safety number. Only one horse (Representative) out of the first 20 horses weighted dropped out, so the event retains all its class, with Kindergarten at the head of the handicap, and the Auckland, New Zealand and many provincial cup winners standing their ground. The Telegraph Handicap, which is the main sprint race, drew a field of 19, the only horses among the topweights dropping out being Cambria and Route March, but their stable has Beau Vaals and Sweet Biscui t engaged. A field of 18 is carded for the Wellington Stakes, principal interest .in which will be shown in the prospective meeting of Nawab and Subdued, the two leading two-year-olds of the season, each having been undefeated in three races.

Contrary to expectations, only one field exceeded the safety number. This was the Ruapehu Hack Handicap, _in which there were 31 acceptors, which is one above the safety number. Eight dual acceptors in this race were eliminated, leaving a field of 23.
