NEW BRIDGE NEAR KOHINUI SETTLEMENT. (“Times- Age” Special.) A start has been made with the erection of a new concrete bridge over the stream adjacent to the Kohinui Settlement. Personal Items. Miss Pratt was the guest of Mrs. H. Smith recently. Mrs. Simeon, Feilding, is the guest' of Mrs. Enoka, Kohinui. Misses J. and L. Thompson, Wellington, are staying with their brother, Mr N. Thompson, Kohunui. Mrs. J. Riwai is spending a holiday in the South Island. Miss K. Riwai has returned to Christchurch. Private Kitney has returned from Hastings. Mr. and Mrs. Patrick. Lower Hutt, who were at the Ferry, have returned home. Mr. Vai Hume has been visiting relatives here. Mr. and Mrs Boyd, Khandallah, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lovegrove over the holidays. Mr. F. Te Maari has returned from a holiday visit to relatives at Gisborne. Warrant Officer J. Walker, Auckland, spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. C. Hall, Kumenga. Mr. and Mrs. Chas Evans were guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. Hall for the holidays. Mr. Evans has returned north, while Mrs. Evans will stay longer with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. Nix are also staying at Kumenga. Mr. H. Scrimshaw is an inmate of the Greytown Hospital, where he was operated on for appendicitis.

The many friends in the district will learn with regret of the serious illness of Mr. Trevor Hume, who is in the Masterton Hospital. Mrs. J. Carter is an inmate of a private hospital in Featherston.
