On the Baltic Front and Beyond Polish Border AMERICAN SUPPLIES OF AIRCRAFT, TANKS AND VEHICLES PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT GIVES IMPRESSIVE FIGURES
■ •' LONDON. January 6. A Moscow communique states that oh the Baltic front the Russians, north of Nevel, captured, several towns and villages, after throwing back German counter-attacks. On the first Ukrainian front, Russian forces have captured a place 12 miles inside the 1939 Polish frontier. President Roosevelt, in a report on lend-] ease aid to United Nations, said that in the first ten months of 1943 the Soviet Union received 3,500 tanks, nearly 7,000 planes and 195,000 motor vehicles. The shipment of tanks was reduced to make up for a greater number of planes. This equipment was effectively used by the Red Army in its offensives in the Ukraine and White Russia’
