LATE MR. J. C. COOPER
LARGELY ATTENDED FUNERAL. There was a large and representative attendance at the funeral in Masterton yesterday of the late Mr J. C. Cooper. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church by the Rev. Father Moore, who also conducted the service at the graveside. Wreaths were sent by the following. Members and staff of the Wairarapa Power Board; members of the Dominion executive of the N.Z. Faimeis Union - officers, n.c.o. s and cadets, St. John Ambulance, Cadet Division, Masterton; Carterton Division of the St. John Ambulance; National Service Department; members and executive, Wairarapa Farmers’ Union; officers and members of St. John Ambulance Nursing Division, Masterton; Medical Platoon, Masterton Home Guard; officers, n.c.o.'s and men, St. John Ambulance Brigade. Masterton; Sir Heaton Rhodes, Knight Commander of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem; directors and staff of Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd. The pall-bearers were: At the church, Sergeant W. S. Flaws, Corporals R. J. Berney, C. A. Greenwood, Messrs J Richardson, S. Virtue and T. Coley. At the cemetery, Messrs J. M. James, Hugh Morrison, C. O’Donnell, G. Hales, S. H. Maynagh and J. Brophy. Ambulance Officer J. W. F. Cairns, Masterton, represented Sir Heaton Rhodes.
