IN DEFENCE OF ATLANTIC" CONVOY AT LEAST TWO U-BOATS SUNK. TOTAL OF 570 DESTROYED SINCE WAR BEGAN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, November 9. It is revealed that units of the Royal Navy for five days and nights fought off attacks by concentrations of U-boats in the North Atlantic. Two U-boats were sunk and several probably damaged. Another message states that the First Lord of the Admiralty (Mr Alexander) stated that the number of U-boats known definitely to have been destroyed since the war began was 570.
