.PUBLIC NOTICES. MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by “The Counties Act, 1920,” and “The Rating Act, 1925,” and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it, that the Masterton County Council intends, at an Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, Chapel Street, Masterton. on TUESDAY, the 14th day of July, 1942, at 2 p.m., to make and levy the following Rates for the year commenced on the Ist day of April, 1942, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1943. GENERAL RATES. A GENERAL RATE under Sections 120 and 121 of “The Counties’ Act, 1920,” on the Capital Rateable Value of all rateable property appearing on the Valuation Roll of the six respective Ridings of the County as follows:— IN THE OPAKI RIDING, a General Rate of SEVEN-EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (-Id) in the Pound. IN THE RANGITUMAU RIDING, a General Rate of THREE-FOURTHS OF ONE PENNY (i ! d) in the Pound. IN THE UPPER TAUERU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND ONE-EIGHTH OF ONE PENNY (ljd) in the Pound. IN THE TE WHITI RIDING, a General Rate of THIRTEEN-SIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (13-16 d in the Pound. IN THE URITI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND ONEFOURTH OF ONE PENNY (Lid) in the Pound.

IN THE WAINUIOURU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND THREE-SIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (1 3-16 d) in the Pound. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A RATE under the provisions of Section 52 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” of NINE TWENTY-THIRDS OF ONE PENNY (9-23 d in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property in the County of Masterton, such rate being required to meet the contributions payable by the Council to the Wairarapa Hospital Board. SEPARATE RATES. ALSO UNDER the provisions of “The Water Supply Act, 1908,” and Amendments thereto, to make and levy Separate Rates for the maintenance of Water Races within the respective Water Supply Districts, as follows:— A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE-HALF OF ONE PENNY (1-d) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT, No. 1. A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE PENNY AND FOUR-FIFTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (1 4-15 d) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the OPAKI WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A SEPARATE RATE OF FIFTEENSIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (15IGd) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the TE ORE ORE WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A CONTRIBUTION EQUAL TO SIX PENCE (6d) per acre (with a minimum charge of TWO' SHILLINGS (2/-)) over all Rateable property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT, No. 2. SPECIAL RATES.

ALSO UNDER THE PROVISIONS of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,” to collect so much as is required of each of the annual recurring Special Rates levied on the Capital Rateable Value of all rateable property within the several Special Rating Districts of the County of Masterton to provide the Annual Charges on the Loans raised in the said districts. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that all such Rates shall becomh payable in one sum at the County Office, Chapel Street, Masterton, on the 28th day of July, 1942. Pursuant to a Resolution of the Masterton County Council, a Rebate of Five (5) per centum will be allowed off the GENERAL RATE if all Rates made and levied for the year ended 31st March, 1943, are paid on or before THURSDAY, the 13th day of August, 1942.
