REMARKABLE DRUG

GIVES RELIEF FROM RAID SHOCK ACCORDING TO ENGLISH NEWSPAPER. EXPERIENCE LIVED OVER AGAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, July 18. “Scientists have discovered a drug which makes raid-shocked people relive the experience which broke them down,” says the “Daily Express.” After they recover from the drug they are often completely cured. The drug was administered to a man who had a severe mental breakdown after .the German raid on Birmingham, a year ago. A few minutes after the injection he was unconscious. Then he became restive, and, still semi-conscious, he started to talk. In his conversation he re-lived his experiences in the air raid vividly—bombs falling and sirens sounding. His emotions became intense after he recalled a bomb which nearly hit him. After an hour, the man was normal again, all fear vanished and he is now looking forward to returning to work.
