NAZIS TRYING TO CLOSE GAPS MANY PATRIOTS ESCAPING TO RUSSIA. HUNDREDS FIGHTING IN ARCTIC. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, June 18. A Stockholm report says the Germans are closing two more gaps in their “anti-escape” net around Norway. A prohibited zone has been, proclaimed along Norway’s northernmost frontier with Sweden, while stricter measures are being introduced for controlling sea traffic in Norway’s extreme north. The “Social Demokraten” reports that hundreds of Norwegians from Finmark have escaped to Russia by sea and land. Five hundred are reported to be fighting with the Red Army on the Arctic front.
