WAR EXPENDITURE

LATEST BRITISH FIGURES. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, June 16. The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir Kingsley Wood), in the House of Commons, said it was estimated that Britain’s national expenditure this year would be £5,236,000,000. of which about £4,500.000,000 would be war expenditure. That did not include aid from the United States under the lease-lend agreement. The war was costing £14,500,000 a day.
