INDIAN DEMAND
FOR BRITISH WITHDRAWAL. STATEMENT BY PANDIT NEHRU. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) BOMBAY, June 17. Pandit Nehru, in a statement, said: “I agree with Mr Gandhi in asking Britain to withdraw politically from India. Britain must accept entire independence for India. There is not going to be peace between us except on that basis. The situation in India is becoming intolerable to many who feel that India cannot carry on as a passive spectator.”
