NAZI TANK ATTACK
BROKEN AT SIDI REZEGH NO IMPRESSION MADE ON ACROMA. INCREASING AIR ACTIVITY. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) LONDON, June .17. Axis pressure in the Libyan battle, including .the assaults on Acroma and El Adem and, possibly, an attempted thrust toward Tobruk from the east by way of Sidi Rezegh, indicate that a fullscale attack directed toward capturing Tobruk is developing. Today’s communique from Cairo states that our forces yesterday broke up an attack by an enemy armoured force on our positions at Sidi Rezegh. Attacks on our positions at Acroma, which continued throughout the day, were repulsed. Ap enemy force which formed up opposite our position at El Adem failed to attack. . Operations in the, air, which were hampered by dust-storms in the weekend, are being resumed.
