GERMAN CLAIM
IN APPARENT CONFLICT WITH REALITY. “COMPLETION” OF KHARKOV CAMPAIGN. (British /Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) RUGBY, June 16. The furious German efforts against Kharkov and Sebastopol are being followed in London with the closest attention. It is noted that German official accounts report that the Kharkov campaign has been “successfully completed,” but it is not known whether the Germans have reached the Donetz and apparently the main Russian positions around Kharkov and on the Upper Donetz have not been seriously affected by the recent operations.
“The Times” remarks that Russian knowledge of German tactics, painfully learned, is now valuable.
