NEW OAKS STAKES. SUN CHARIOT’S SEVENTH VICTORY. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, June 12. The race for the New Oaks Stakes at Newmarket resulted as follows: — His Majesty the King’s Sun Chariot 1 Afterthought 2 Feberion 2 Won by a length; half length. Time, 2.33 1-5. Gordon Richards rode Sun Chariot. This is the first time a royal-owned horse has won this race. Sun Chariot has now been successful in seven out of eight races, having won stake money totalling £6585. Men crowded the stand, waved their hats and frantically cheered as Sun Chariot passed the post. There was another burst of cheering when the winner was led into the saddling enclosure. The crowd at Newmarket was big with a large number of cars, but many hundreds were forced to walk to the course owing to the lack of transport.
