STATE THEATRE

“WAKE UP AND LIVE.” One of the best mid-week programmes ever put on at the State Theatre, will be presented tonight and will be headed by “Wake up and Live.” In “Wake up and Live” there is a picture which possesses all the essential features which go to make up a presentation that the public will appreciate. The acting is particularly good, and there is a rich vein of humour through it. Peter Kelly and Ned Sparks have the leading roles. The associate feature, “Murder Among Friends,” is also a picture which should make an immediate appeal to patrons for the excellence of its theme and the acting. The chief roles are taken by John Hubbard and Marjorie Weaver. Laughs, chills and thrills highlight the new picture as two gay young romancers, John Hubbard and Marjorie Weaver, find themselves kneedeep in a wholesale murder plot hinging around the tontine insurance policy —for the 200,000 dollars. Hubbard is a doctor with no nose or crime, while Marjorie portrays a Southern Gal with an unending stream of chatter.
