ARMY OF 100,000 MEN TWO THOUSAND TRAINED AIRMEN FORTY WARSHIPS OPERATING. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, Januaary 7. The first issue of the new French weekly here, “Pour La Victoire,” declares that General de Gaulle now commands an army of 100.000, including 2000 trained aviators, 40 warships and 105 merchantmen and tankers. Replying to wishes for the New Year, sent by the Free French leader, General de Gaulle, “for the success of the armies and people of Russia, whose valour has killed the myth of German invincibility,” M. Stalin sent the following cable: “I thank you for your cordial message on the occasion of the New Year. Accept my best wishes for yourself and your troops and all Free Frenchmen who are fighting against the German or Italian oppressors for a France which shall be free and independent.”
