CROQUET CONTEST HAUNUI v. MAURICEVILLE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Owing to the rough weather drill and marching were held inside, under the command of Miss Nix, commandant, and Mr Lobb, of the Home Guard. The girls paraded in three units —W.W.S.A., Red Cross unit, and Transport. Miss Joan Marshall and Mrs Lett were elected by W.W.S.A. girls to take charge when they parade with the Home Guard. Bowling. During the weekend Hutana and James beat W. Eldei; (sub.) and B. Fuge in the pairs championship. J. Hutana and W. H. Rowles beat W. Elder and F. Talbot in the junior flag competition. COSY THEATRE TOMORROW’S PROGRAMME. “Doomed Caravan,” another story of Hopalong Cassidy,, with Bill Boyd and Russell Hayden taking the chief characters and “Freshman Year” featuring Dixie Dunbar and William Lundigan, are the main attractions in tomorrow night’s programme. (Both are recommended by the Censor for adults).
