REVOLT IN FRANCE
CORRECTION OF VICHY BROADCAST. MINISTER OF INTERIOR NOT KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, January 5. It is revealed that the Vichy radio announcement of the assassination of both M. Pucheux, Minister of the Interior, and M. Paringault, DirectorGeneral of the Ministry of the Interior, was not official. According to Vichy dispatches, M. Pucheaux is now supervising the inquiries into the death of M. Paringault, whose body was found lying on the railway line cut to pieces. M. Paringault left Troyes on Sunday for Paris, where he intended to joii M. Pucheux before they were to re turn to Vichy on January 8. M. Parin gault was a member of M. Doriot’ Popular (Fascist) Party. It is reported from Vichy that M Paringault’s body has been taken ti Paris for an autopsy. Jacob Friedmann and his wife wen arrested in Avignon on charges of di Gaullist propaganda. It was announced at first that thi body of M. Pucheux .was found witl that of M. Paringault, and it was sai( it was believed they were murderet in a train between Melun and Troye. and the bodies thrown out.
