SOME TRANSFERS REPORTED. MAJOR-GENERAL BRETT PROMOTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, January 7. President Roosevelt has nominated Mr Steinhardt, at present Ambassador to Moscow to be Ambassador to Turkey. It is expected that Major-General James Burns will be appointed to Moscow. Major-General Brett has been promoted to Lieutenant-General in order to give him rank immediately under General Wavell.
