SOLWAY RAINFALL

FIGURES FOR DECEMBER. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured at Solway on 14 days in December, the maximum fall being 39 points on the 18th, and the minimum 2 points on the 25th. The total for the month was 2.85 inches, as against 1.09 (1940), 3.03 (1939), 4.95 (1938), 1.69 (1937), 3.12 (1936); average for 38 years, 3.1 inches. The rainfall for 12 months was 43.96 inches, as compared with 36.51 (1940), 29.57 (1939), 47.33 (1938), 32.60 (1937) and 44.09 (1936). The average for 38 years is 39.50 inches.
