COMING OF AGE BIRTHDAY PARTY AT TE KOPI. ("Times-Age” Special.) An enjoyable time was spent at a social gathering held at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. H. Tilson, Te Kopi, Palliser Bay, when a large number of relatives and friends assembled to celebrate the occasion of Mr John Tilson’s attaining his majority. Mr Guy Gillies, uncle of the guest of honour, congratulated his nephew on his coming to manhood, and wished him on behalf of his many friends a happy and prosperous future. Games and other amusements assisted to pass away the time pleasantly. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Hancock and family, who were the guests of Mr L. Goodwin, Pear Gully, over the holidays, have returned to Wellington. Mi’ and Mrs Didsbury, Wellington, and Mr and Mrs Duncan Morrison, Bush Gully, were the guests of Miss N. McDougall during the holidays. Mr and Mrs N. Murphy have returned to the East Coast. Mr Neil Hume -has returned to Alfredton. Mr and Mrs Brunton, Masterton, were the guests of Mr and Mrs Peter Macdonald. Mr R. Ewing, Carterton, who was staying with Mr and Mrs Hutchison for a few days, has returned home. The many friends of Mr Charles Wellington, who was a resident of the district for a number of years, will regret to learn of the death of his father which occurred recently in Masterton. Mr D. S. Sutherland has returned from the South Island. Mr and Mrs H. Lovegrove, Featherston, were recent guests of Mr and Mrs F. Lovegrove. Miss Lena Matenga has taken up a position at the Otaki Health Camp. Mrs Robinson is staying at the 'Lake Ferry. Holiday Campers. Although the weather was boisterous for the greater part of the holiday period it did not deter people from camping at various points on the coastal area, and in some instances they had a pleasant time. There were not the same number camping as in previous years.
