VITAL STATISTICS FIGURES FOR DECEMBER AND 1941 (“Times-Age” Special.) The vital statistics for December are: —Births, 17; marriages, 3; deaths, 2. During 1941 there were 53 births, 12 marriages, and 10 deaths. Personal Items. Mrs A. Ross, Greytown, is visiting her sister, Mrs R. Gallagher, Liverpool House. Miss L. Marshall has returned to Wellington after having been the guest of Mrs Schultz, Rongokokako. Mr and Mrs J. Fredericksen, Lower Hutt, have returned home after having visited the former’s parents. Miss N. Fredericksen, Christchurch, is spending a holiday with her parents. Mr and Mrs B. Dinnan have been on a visit to Palmerston North. Mr R. Hornblow, Palmerston North, spent the holidays with his parents, Mr and Mrs W. Hornblow, Newman Road. Mr G. Coster, Waipukurau, has returned home after having visited his mother, Mrs E. Coster. Stanley Street. Mrs W. Simpson, Opunake, is the guest of her mother, Mrs D. Fraser, Hastwell Street. Mr and Mrs M. Spring, Waitara, were the guests of Mrs K. Perry, Newman Road, for the holidays.
Mrs J. Spring, Senr., is staying with her son, Mr J. Spring, Newman Road. Mr M. Carter, Feilding, was a visitor to the district during the weekend. Mrs M. Drysdale, Wanganui, is on a visit to her mother, Mrs P. Fauvel, Alfredton Road. Mr and Mrs D. Reid and family spent the holidays at Lower Hutt. Mr V. G. Wimsett, stationmaster, has received notice of his transfer' to the position of stationmaster at Patea, for which place he will leave on January 14. Constable C. Casteldine, of Te Awamutu, has commenced his duties as officer in charge at the local Police Station. Constable Casteldine, with Mrs Casteldine and family, arrived in Eketahuna last week. The many friends of Mrs P. Jensen, Parkville, will be pleased to learn that she is making satisfactory progress towards recovery after having undergone a serious operation in the Masterton Hospital. Mrs R. Holford is spending a holiday with her parents at Palmerston North. Mrs Cobb, Napier, is the guest of Mrs R. Fafeita, High Street. Mr and Mrs F. Goggin, Rongokokako, are visiting Wellington.
