MOVEMENTS OF ALLIED SHIPPING REPORTED TO BERLIN. FROM ST PIERRE RADIO. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 5. The radio at St Pierre and Miquelon signalled Allied shipping movements to Vichy, which in turn informed Berlin, reports the “New York Times” correspondent on the island. The files of the radio station prove th Ils. Commenting on the islands are to be returned fr&m the Free French to Vichy, Admiral Muselier said: “No power can remove me from here. For honour’s sake, I would resist any power, or any combination of navies.”

External Affairs Department officials said today that they had no information on the Berlin broadcast that the United States had compelled the Free French to evacuate St Pierre and Miquelon.
