REGENT THEATRE
“MEN OF BOYS’ TOWN.”
“Men of Boys' Town,” will be finally shown tonight.
“THE GHOST OF ST. MICHAEL’S.”
In “The Ghost of St. Michael’s,” which will be shown tomorrow night, Will Hay not only makes a welcome reappearance, but also plays once more the role which has made him famous—his know-nothing, windbag, down-at-heel schoolmaster. The background is the topical one of St. Michael’s temporarily evacuated to a haunted castle on a lonely Scottish isle, the plot revolving round a spy’s signalling to U-boats, in the course of which two headmasters are murdered. The theme gives the star a non-stop succession of opportunities to fully exploit his laugh-provoking prowess. The boys make a butt of Mr Lamb (Will Hay) and all his fellow-masters, with the exception of vacuously-bland junior master (Claude Hulbert).
