LOST NEPTUNE
ABOUT 200 NEW ZEALANDERS IN CREW. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. According to a recent report by the overseas commissioner for the National Patriotic Fund Board, Lieutenant-Col-onel F. Waite, the Neptune’s company included about 200 New Zealanders. The “N.Z.E.F. Times” has stated that the large proportion of New Zealanders in the ship was the result of efforts being made to bring together under unified control New Zealand personnel serving with the Royal Navy. A representative of the N.Z.E.F. official news service in the Middle East also gave recently an account of a visit he paid t,q the ship. In this he said that'many of the New Zealanders aboard the cruiser came from ships of all kinds serving in many parts of the world, and that many of them had seen exciting, service before joining the cruiser.
