MAHUNGA CLUB ELEVENTH ANNUAL REPORT. NOMINATIONS FOR COMMITTEE. The annual report of the Mahunga Golf Club which will be presented to the annual meeting on Monday states inter alia: — Although the year’s working shows a' small deficit, your committee considers that the position is still most satisfactory, although attention to expenditure will have to be carefully watched to conserve funds and see the Club successfully through the war period.. A gap in active members is now showing on account of war conditions but new members joining up have helped to maintain our numbers. The following nominations have been received for the general committee, and as seven members only are required a ballot will be necessary-: — J. Morris, S. Jenkins, I. I. McGregor, D. A. Hunn, F. Traynor, Campbell Sutherland, Miss E. Wyber. G. Young, G. R. Ward, A. H. Ward, N. Cathie, F. C. Brockett.
The club championships and competitions resulted as follows: —Ladies: Senior championship, Mrs C. Torr; runner-up, Miss E. V. Wyber. Junior championship, Mrs C. Simpson; run-ner-up, Miss E. Kitchener. Captain’s trophy, Mrs C. Torr. Nett aggregate, Miss R. Robinson. L.G.U. bronze medal, Miss R. Robinson. Mills Cup, Mrs D. A. Hunn.
Men: Senior’ championship, K. W. McFarlane; runner-up, H. Weihipana. Intermediate championship, N. Jones; runner-up, B. V. Bodie. Junior championship, K. Rew; runner-up. H. M. O’Connor. Nett aggregate, C. Walker. Captain's trophy, M. Thornton. Brocket Cup, G. B. Young. Closing day competition, mixed four-ball, .Mrs Caldwell and N. Bach; runners-up, Miss R. Robinson and W. Taylor. We are proud to acknowledge the splendid service of our members with the overseas 'forces, but we sincerely regret to record the loss of those who have paid the supreme sacrifice. We deplore the deaths of such good fellows as John Sievers, Earl Kean and Jim Hamil and to their parents we have extended members’ deep sympathy in their sad loss also. Appreciation is recorded to members of all sub-committees for their excellent work throughout the season and we also commend the work of the ladies' secretary. We wish herein to express appreciation to the club’s auditor (Mr D. B. Curry) for his honorary services.
