WAIKATO MEETING SECOND DAY RESULTS. A WIN FOR ERNDALE. (By Telegraph— Press Association.) HAMILTON, November 17. The track was soft for the second day of the Waikato races and the weather overcast. ‘The crowd was good for an off day and the totalisator handled £35,628 10s, an increase of £2171 10s on the same day last year. The total for the meeting was £90,732, an increase of £8678. The Frankton Handicap, the opening event, was marred by an accident when six horses fell at the turn. The first to fall appeared to be Golden Valley, who was racing prominently behind the leaders, and the others involved were Tea Drop, Flying Cross, Irish Love, Mark Anthony and Reihi Nui. It was one of the worst smashes that has occurred in the Auckland district, and R. W. McTavish, rider of Golden Valley, met with instant death.
