SEASON CLOSED
PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES CEREMONY AT LANSDOWNE | LINKS. A RECORD ATTENDANCE. There was a record attendance at the Masterton Golf Club’s closing day gathering at the Lansdowne links on Saturday afternoon. Visitors were present from several other clubs. A mixed foursome competition was won by Mr and Mrs A. J. Drew. The club captain, Mr S. A. Mannering, declared the season closed and called on Mrs G. W. Sellar, president of the ladies’ club to present the trophies won during the season. Mr G. W. Sellar, president of the club, spoke briefly. Trophies were presented as follows: Ladies: Senior championship, Miss D. Todd; junior championship, Mrs J. Jameson; L.G.U. silver medal, Mrs A. J. Drew; L.G.U. bronze medal, Mrs B, Schofield; Hope Lewis Cup, Mrs J. Jameson; Lansdowne Cup, Mrs R. Hi Plummer; Kebbell Cup, Mrs B. Schofield; Senior Rose Bowl, Mrs A. J. Drew; Junior Rose Bowl, Mrs R. R. Burridge; Foursome Vases, Mrs G. F. Candy and Miss E. Wrigley. Men: Senior championship, C. Faulknor; Intermediate championship, N. G. Whiteman; Junior championship, 11. H. Daniell; President’s Trophy, R. E. Baker; Captain’s Trophy (senior), G. Brown; Captain’s . Trophy . (junior), J. C. Forsyth; Hornabrook Cup, R. E. Baker; Jameson Cups, H. Bell and J. C. Forsyth; Summer Cup, H. Bell.
