SALE AT FEILDINO PRICES BACKWARD. LITTLE BUSINESS DONE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, November 16. Small entries were received for the Feilding sale today and not a great deal of interest was taken in the sale. Prices generally were again backward, with a few good sales registered for first-quality station cattle. Fat sheep and hoggets were in best demand, with prices a shade easier. Both ewes and wethers met a quiet sale. Extra prime ewes made 17s 7d to 19s lOd, prime do, 12s Id to 16s 4d, unfinished 7s lOd to 10s 4d. prime wethers 21s 4d to 22s lOd, light 18s lOd to 19s lOd, extra prime hoggets 28s 4d, prime do, 20s Id to 23s 4d, light 17s lOd to 19s 7d, extra prime lambs 26s 7d, light 21s 7d to 22s Id. In the store sheep section a few pens of second-grade wether hoggets sold at late rates. Best wether hoggets made 18s 6d to 19s 2d, others 14s 6d to 16s 7d, b.f. do 18s 7d, ewe do 16s 9d, ewes and lambs all counted 12s 7d. In the store cattle section a fairly good inquiry was shown for station cattle, best condition lines selling satisfactorily. Fat and forward A.A. bullocks made £lO 4s, fair three-year A.A. steers £l7 17s to £B, good twoyear do, £7 to £7 12s 6d, others £6 Bs, yearling do £4 15s to £5 17s 6d, three-year A.A. heifers £8 to £8 ss, yearling do, £3 15s to £5 13s, cows and calves £5 2s 6d, Hereford cows £2 10s to £5 6s, yearling Jersey heifers £4 Is to £6 ss, boner cows, heavy, £5 ss, others £1 17s 6d to £3 Bs. Dairy cattle prices were backward, very little stock of select quality being on offer. Best springing heifers made £8 Ids to £9 Ids, others £5 5s to £7 Ids, good springing cows £9 to £lO Ids, backward £5 to £7 15s. In the fat cattle section beef was also easier, quality and finish again being lacking. Medium prime cows made £7 17s 6d to £8 12s 6d, light £4 5s to £6 ss, medium prime heifers, £8 7s 6d to £9 7s 6d, light £4 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d, medium prime ox £l2 7s 6d. Pigs: Weaners 10s 6d to 20s, slips 22s to 28s, stores 34s 6d, sow and litter of six 40s. CARTERTON SALE CATTLE PRICES SLIGHTLY EASIER. SHEEP AND PIGS MAKE LATE RATES. Wright, Stephenson & Co., Ltd., report that a small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at their Carterton sale yesterday. Sheep and pigs sold on a par with late rates but cattle prices were slightly easier. The following are some of the realisations: Sheep: Fat woolly wether hoggets, 255, 265, 27s to 28s 6d; fat b.f. hoggets, t0.21s 2d; fat shorn ewes, 9s to 10s 7d; store b.f. hoggets, to 15s TOd. Cattle: Jers. heifer on drop, to £8 10s; fat cows, to £4 7s 6d; cows and calves, to £4; forward cows, to £3; store cows, £2 to £2 11s; yearling Jers. heifers, £4 16s to £5 10s; Jersey bulls, 20s, £2 to £5. Pigs: Baconers, to £3 9s; porkers, £2, £2 Is, £2 7s, £2 Ils to £2 12s; light porkers, 36s to 375; store pigs, 255, 265, 30s, 33s to 33s 6d; choppers, 10s, 25s to 32s 6d; slips, 22s to 22s 6d; weaners (good), 19s to 21s, medium 17s, 18s to 18s 6d, small 15s to 16s 6d.
