LONDON, November 13. “I cannot divulge the figures of what the Americans have convoyed across the Atlantic, but it has been of vital assistance to us,” said the First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sir Dudley Pound, in a speech to the R.A.N.V.R. Auxiliary Patrol Club. “The American Navy Js co-operating with us magnificently in numerous ways,” he said. “I do not know where the hell 1 would be without the 50 destroyers and 10 cutters they gave us. The Americans have refitted a number of (ships for us. Their work is first-class, because they! are putting their backs into the jom.”
