ENEMY TRANSPORTS
FIVE SUNK IN WEEK BY RUSSIANS IN BALTIC 4 ARCTIC. TOLL OF NAZI PLANES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 14. A Russian communique received early today contains news of the sinking during the last week of five enemy transports—two totalling 9000 tons in the Arctic, and three in the Baltic totalling 13,000 tons. The communique also states: “On November 13 our troops were engaged in fighting on all fronts. Complete figures show that on November 12 not 25 German planes, as reported earlier, but 36 were shot down. On November 13 20 German planes were shot down, and we lost five.” In air raids on Moscow on November 12 and the night of November 12-13 ? there were some casualties, states the Moscow radio. Some German planes succeeded in reaching Moscow, and they dropped high-explosive bombs haphazard on non-military targets.
