The Hon. H. T. Armstrong. Minister of Public Works, will return to Wellington on Sunday from a visit to the South Island. The New Zealander, Squadron Leader P. A. Tipping, is to marry Elizabeth Walsh. Oxford, on July 1, a London cablegram states. Mr John Dunlop, Seaward Downs, Southland, has been re-elected unopposed as member for the southern ward on the New Zealand Dairy Board. Captain (temp.) E. A. Anson. Lieutenant C. C. Duigan, a son of Major-General Duigan, has been appointed captain and instructor in gunnery for coast and anti-aircraft defences, Central Military District. He also becomes assistant artillery officer for the district.

Mr Basil Potter, who was Y.M.C.A. Area Officer in the Wairarapa during the Central Field Force manoeuvres, when the Y.M.C.A. was responsible for canteens for the troops, has been posted to the Second N.Z.E.F. as Field Secretary, Overseas. The death has occurred at Herriesville, Te Aroha, of Mr Edward Stuart Masters, aged 73. Mr Masters, who was born in England, came to New Zealand at the age of five. After leaving Kai taia. where he hud settled with his father, he was engaged in business at Waerenga, Taneatua, Helensville and Paeroa. Captain D. W. Earle. New Zealand Dental Corps, has been appointed Principal Dental Officer. Mobilisation Camp. Trentham. He will have the temporaryrank of major while so employed. Captain Earle will succeed Captain (temporary Major) O. E. L. Rout, who has been appointed Assistant 1 Director of Dental Services (Administration), ArmyHeadquarters, Wellington.
