General Rate (sd) 675 Miscellaneous 790 IJ.'.ik'if, 1641-1942 200 £1665 RATES 1941-1942. pUELIC NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuant to Section 79 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.” the estimates have been prepared by the Eketahuna Borough Council for tiie period commencing on the Ist day of April. 1941, and that Public Notice is also given that the Valuation Roll, and the Rate Book, and the Estimates are now open for inspection'at the Office of the Council during office hours, and that after the expiration of fourteen days from publication of this notice the Eketahuna Borough Council intends to make and lev}' the rates hereunder specified: each of the .said rates to be for the year commencing on the Ist day of April. 1941. and ending on the 31st day of March. 1942. Pursuant to Section 77 of “The Municipal Corporations Act 1933,” A GENERAL RATE of five-pence in the pound (sd) on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Eketahuna. Pursuant to Sefction 50 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act. 1926," A SEPARATE RATE for Hospital and Charitable Aid purposes of one penny and one half-penny in the pound (lid) on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Eketahuna. Pursuant to Section 84 of "The Municipal Corporations Act. 1933." and "The Rating Act. 1925,” WATER RATES in respect of ordinary supply: 1. Upon all lands and buildings to, which water is supplied: (a) Where the annual value exceeds £l2 TO/-. a rate of One per centum (IT i of such value, the minimum rate to be ten shillings (IO (b) Where the annual value does not exceed £l2 10 -. a rafe of ten shillings (TO /'-).

2. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situated within one hundred yards from any part of the waterworks, the minimum rate to be five shillings (5/-). Pursuant to and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Municipal Corporations Act. 1933.” and "The Health Act, 1920.” Section 140, and in' order to meet the expenses incurred in carrying out the provisions of “The Health Act, 1920,” in respect of the collection, removal and disposal of nightsoil, and the removal of house refuse and garbage: A SEPARATE RATE of one penny in the pound (Id) on the unimproved value of all the rateable property in the Borough of Eketahuna. Pursuant to Section 89 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933": A STREET LIGHTING RATE of one penny and three-quarters of a penny in the pound (l.jd) on the unimproved value of all the rateable property in the Borough of Eketahuna. Pursuant to and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.” and "The Local Government Loans Act. 1926,” and for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking funds and other charges on all loans, for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1941, and ending on the 31st day of March. 1942, A SPECIAL RATE of nine-pence and one-quarter of a penny in the pound (9.!d) on the unimproved value of all the rateable property in the Borough, of Eketahuna. Pursuant to and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Section 96 of “The Municipal Corporations Act. 1933,” it is intended in lieu of making and levying separately the General Rate (sd). the Hospital Rate (lid), the Sanitation Rate (Id), the Street Lighting Rate (l!?d), the Special Rate (9jcl) as aforesaid, over the Borough of Eketahuna as constituted at the 31st day of March. 1941. to make and levy over the said area an Amalgamated Rate of One Shilling and Sixpence ane One Half-Penny (1/61) in the £.
