BASKETBALL
INTER-COLLEGE CONTEST. PALMERSTON NORTH TEAM BEATS WAIRARAPA. Bad weather conditions hampered the basketball match played between the Palmerston North Technical High School and Wairarapa College on the College courts yesterday. The visiting team finally won by 14 goals to 13 after a fast and exciting game. Palmerston North played a good, steady game with fine positional play and great accuracy in goal throwing, showing the results of good coaching. Wairarapa gained the advantage by rapa colleges, but had to be postponed in the goal third but weak defence in the Wairarapa team was responsible for Palmerston North’s scoring. Miss Hannah, of Solway College, ably refereed the game.
