TE ORE ORE MEETING. SECOND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED. (“Times-Age" Special.) The second birthday meeting of the Te Ore Ore Women's Institute was held recently when there was a good attendance of members, Mrs Mcßae presiding. A bring and buy stall yielded a considerable sum which is to be used for the providing of soldiers’ parcels. The points prizes for the year resulted as follows:—Mrs McLaughlan, flowers and cooking; Mrs J. Haeata, games. The competitions resulted .as follows: Game. Miss Pura 1. Mrs McDonald 2. Best bloom: Miss Jacques 1. Mrs J. Haeata 2. Mrs N. Haeata 3. An iced birthday cake made by Mrs McDonald was cut by Mrs Kearney, the oldest member.
GLADSTONE GATHERING
COMPETITION' RESULT.
(“Times-Age” Special.)
O.wing to the Easter holidays there was' a .small attendance at the monthly meeting of the Gladstone Women's Institute. Apologies for absence were received from several members. The president, Mrs Joblin, expressed the deep regret of the members at the death of Mrs Jolly, of Martinborough Women's Institute, who was a former member of the executive of the Wairarapa Federation. Remits for the coming council meeting were discussed and voted on. A "bring and buy" plant stall, in aid of the Soldiers’ Parcels Fund, brought in a verv satisfactory sum. The roll call. “A Washing-day Pudding." produced some interesting recipes. Two new members were enrolled. The competition, a bowl of leaves and berries, was won by Mrs Bubb, with Mrs Joblin second. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs Bradley and helpers.
