: « MEETING OF MASTERTON ASSOCIATION . DAVID GUILD MEMORIAL TROPHY. J RETURN TUG-OF-WAR CONTEST WITH CARTERTON.

There was a good attendance at : meeting last night of the committee of the Masterion A. and P. Association The president. Mr R. E. Gordon Loe presided. The finance committee having made recommendations, the matter of a : memorial trophy to the late Mr David 1 Guild was referred to a special committee. The finance committee reportied having placed on fixed deposit, j £450 from the legacy of the late Mr Guild. The treasurer reported an overdraft of £77. Motions of sympathy were passed with the relative.-; of the late Mrs M. J. Campbell and with Mr M. I). McGregor in the death of his child. A new member was elected and two resignations* were accepted. The secretary. Mr R. H Williams, said a number of prospective judges were not available and more nominations would be needed before a selection could be made. A committee was appointed to make contacts with possible judges, it being thought likely that a number could bo seen at the stud sale at Solway, next week. It was decided to arrange a return tug-of-war match with the Carterton association on the secund day of the forthcoming show, immediately following the parade. The committee decided to take ou’ £ 100 gate insurance and the quotation of W. J. Palamontain for the printing of Ram Fair catalogues, was ae< epted. i
