COSY THEATRE

“COAST GUARD.” Little known heroes of peace, members of the Coast Guard, are glorified in Columbia’s dramatic “Coast Guard,” which will come to the Cosy Theatre tonight. In keeping with the importance of the picture and its unusual theme, the studio carefully selected outstanding players for the major parts. The cast is headed by Randolph Scott, Ralph Bellamy, Frances Dee and Walter Connolly, with featured roles being played by Warren Hymer and Mala. The spectacular activities of the Coast Guard and the whirlwind courtship of Miss Dee, grand-daughter of Walter Connolly, sea-captain, by Scott, reckless pilot of a Coast Guard ambulance plane, and Bellamy, officer in the service is vividly portrayed. A raft of fun, “Out West With the Peppers,” the associate feature, returns to the screen the beloved young characters of Margaret Sidney's famous Pepper books, which have been enjoyed by generations of readers. Edith Fellows again is featured as Polly Pepper, "little mother” of the brood, and others in the familiar cast are Dorothy Peterson, Ronald Sinclair, Dorothy Ann Seese, Victor Kilian, Tommy Bond, Charles Peck and Bobby Larson. The picture is full of fun with the most lovable kiddies in leadin ? Darts Charles Barton directed the new film, third in the popular series made by Columbia. Previous films were “Five Little Peppers and How They Grew” and “Five Little Peppeis at Home.”
