“LUCKY PARTNERS.” The screamingly funny picture, “Lucky Partners,” starring Ginger Rogers and Ronald Colman, will be shown again tonight . This delightfully gay romance that starts from the chance winning of a sweepstakes prize by a Greenwich village girl and a handsome artist. This provides the exciting basis of “Lucky Partners.” There is plenty of romance and comedy in the picture, and patrons will undoubtedly enjoy to the full this very fine picture which is just the right tonic for the present strenuous times. CHRISTMAS ATTRACTIONS. The Christmas week attractions at the State Theatre will be “Kentucky,” a spectacular love story to be screened on Tuesday at a special session at 10.15 p.m. and again on Christmas night; and that outstanding picture, “Lillian Russell,” the thrilling life story of a great actress, which will commence on Boxing Day, with two sessions—2.ls p.m. and 8 p.m. “Kentucky” has a glorious tradition of the Blue Grass country as its background, and a love that is all fire and pride as its theme. “Kentucky” is an outstanding production made greater by perfected technicolour. Much of “Kentucky” was filmed on location in the heart of the Blue Grass state, and the Kentucky Derby itself furnishes a spectacular climax. Loretta Young and Richard Greene are seen in the leading roles, and it is their love which brings peace to two great families who have hated each other bitterly since the Civil War. The colourful life and loves of the striking American'beauty are revived in all their splendour and magnificence in “Lillian Russell” with the sparkling, dashing days of America’s most fabulous era as a background; Lillian Russell was famous for her marvellous voice as well as her splendid acting and great beauty, and Alice Faye sings many of the songs Lillian Russell popularised. Among these are “After the Ball,” “Rosie, You Are My Posie,” “My Evening Star,” “The Band Played On,” and many others.
