CROQUET CLUB PRESENTATION TO MEMBER (“Times-Age” Special.) A very pleasant time was spent on the croquet greens yesterday afternoon when members of the club assembled to bid farewell to a valued member, Mrs. Anton Anderson, who will leave shortly to take up her residence in Palmerston North. In the brilliant sunshine the greens made an ideal setting for the occasion. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Marenzi, J. Taylor and S. Daniel. The members thoroughly enjoyed the first game of the season. A peg competition was won by Miss Angus. The president, Miss A. Anderson, presided at afternoon tea which was served, on the lawns. The tables were nicely decorated with pink and rose rhododendrons. In presenting Mrs. Andersen with a large handsome gold and maroon English china plate. Miss Anderson voiced* the regret of the members at losing the enthusiastic support of Mrs. Anderson, and her place would indeed be difficult to fill. It was the wish of all members that Mrs. Anderson's future would be blessed with everything that was good. She would always be assured of a warm welcome on the greens whenever she visited Eketahuna. Miss Anderson also presented Mrs. Anderson with a lovely spray of sunstar roses. Miss Anderson announced that Mrs. Anderson had kindly donated a trophy for competition during the season, an action that was much appreciated. Mrs. Anderson was accorded musical honours, after which she briefly responded. Personal Items. Miss Reid (Gisborne) is the guest of her sister, Mrs J. Tredray, Tawahaia. Mr. W. Olsen, junr, is at present indisposed. Mrs. Hansen. Kaiparoro, is showing improvement after her recent illness.
