OPERA HOUSE ON MONDAY
PATRIOTIC CONCERT MAORI WELCOME TO MAYOR. At the concert in aid of the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Fund, to be held on Monday next at the Opera House, the opening number will be a Maori Welcome to the Mayor (Mr T. Jordan) given in true Maori style. The public are requested to be seated before 8 o'clock as the doors will be closed during the welcome, and no one allowed inside till it is finished. During the interval a Maori Pin Pin (waistmat) will be rallied. Tickets are being sold at 6d each. Last night the Maoris had an excellent rehearsal, going through their various numbers without a hitch. Ihe necessary explanation for some of the Maori items will be given by Mr Joe Uru. In addition to the Maori performers there will be Mr Cecil Torr in new popular songs and Mr Harry Flail who will supply the humorous element. Mrs J. R. Dickson will play the accompaniments. The box plan is at Messrs Steele and Bull's shop where seats may be booked free of charge.
